Logistics and Facility Management Employee 80 - 100%With around 1,400 employees, the Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is the largest office within the Directorate of Justice and Home Affairs and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the execution of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of offenders and are committed effectively and progressively to a safe and just society.
The Zurich Remand Prisons (UGZ) are one of eight main departments of JuWe. They comprise seven facilities with around 735 prison places and about 500 employees. They are responsible for provisional detention, investigative and security custody, as well as early penal and measure enforcement until transfer to a correctional facility. Thus, they fulfil a central function within the Zurich justice system from the outset.
As part of the UGZ, Zurich West Prison is located in the Police and Justice Centre Zurich and has 241 detention places. It specialises in provisional detention and investigative custody and plays a key role in the admission and initial care of incarcerated persons.
From 1 January 2027 or by agreement, we are looking for a motivated and committed person for the Central Services area at Zurich West Prison as a Logistics & Facility Management Employee.
This is your field of activity
- Management of the 12 module warehouses
- Responsibility for inmate laundry – from ordering and storage to distribution
- Issuing and managing uniforms for employees
- Support in managing the internal kiosk including ensuring food hygiene and temperature controls
- Administrative tasks such as delivery note checks and creation of checklists
- Instruction of external cleaning staff and conducting quality controls
- Management of the internal recycling centre including commissioning external disposal
- Support with other tasks within logistics
What you bring
- Completed vocational training (EFZ) in logistics, textile or food industry
- Good and confident German language skills in spoken and written form as well as good MS Office user skills
- Independent, reliable working style as well as social competence and assertiveness
- Driving licence category B and impeccable character without entries in the criminal and debt registers
- Physical and mental resilience as well as willingness for on-call duty
- Willingness and flexibility for occasional assignments outside regular working hours are necessary
