The Judicial Council advertises the judicial offices for the Grand Council ( Art. 12 JG ). The president is elected by the Grand Council upon recommendation of the Judicial Council.

The employment level is 50% (with prospect of increase to 100%): The position is advertised with an employment level of 50%. Subject to the approval of the 2027 budget, there is the possibility to increase the employment level to 100%. Applicants interested in this possibility are asked to indicate this in their application
- Proficiency in German with good knowledge of French
- Voting rights in cantonal matters. Foreign nationals must hold a residence permit and have lived in the canton for at least five years. There must be no loss certificates against the persons. They must not have been criminally convicted of acts incompatible with the judicial office
