About the job
The post holder is responsible for proactive prospecting and managing business opportunities related to groups and catering events within a region. They manage group/catering opportunities not handled by the Event Booking Center. They actively develop each business opportunity to maximise revenue. They achieve their individual revenue targets as well as those of their team. They ensure an effective and timely handover of files to guarantee quality service delivery. They contribute to customer loyalty by providing an excellent level of service throughout the customer experience. They deliver quality service to grow the market share of client accounts on behalf of the company.
PROFILE SOUGHT Education and experience- Secondary school diploma (baccalaureate or equivalent) with 2 years of experience in sales and marketing, customer service, hotel reception, or a related professional field.
OR
- Level Bac+2 diploma (or equivalent) awarded by a recognised institution in business administration, marketing, hotel and catering management, or a similar speciality; no professional experience required.
- Identify new business opportunities for groups and catering to meet individual and regional revenue targets.
- Understand the overall market: competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc., and adapt the sales approach accordingly.
- Close the best opportunities for establishments in the region based on market conditions and each establishment’s needs.
- Follow daily sales procedures to optimise room revenue and control occupancy rates.
- Gain a good knowledge of each establishment in the region, its target clientele and service standards; support clients by understanding their business, challenges and needs to offer suitable solutions before and during their events.
- Respond to incoming enquiries regarding groups and catering that are not handled by the Event Booking Center.
- Use negotiation skills and creative selling abilities to close deals and negotiate contracts.
- Effectively utilise sales resources as well as administrative and support teams.
- Manage operational aspects of closed sales (preparing sales proposals, drafting contracts, client correspondence, etc.).
- Support the company’s service and customer relationship management strategy to strengthen client loyalty through impeccable service quality.
- Assist clients to develop the market share of existing accounts.
- Apply and promote the company’s customer service standards as well as the establishment’s brand standards.
- Deliver excellent service in line with the brand’s daily fundamentals.
- Ensure an exemplary customer experience by supporting clients and ensuring their satisfaction before and during their event.
- Collaborate with Event Management and/or Operations teams to deliver an experience that exceeds client expectations.
- Lead by example in customer relations.
- Engage with clients to gather feedback on product and service quality.
- Participate in pre- and post-event meetings to understand group needs, collect feedback on service quality (rooms, meeting rooms, equipment, catering, beverages), service levels and overall satisfaction.
- Advise clients by identifying their needs and recommending the most suitable services and offerings, while developing a lasting relationship and loyalty to the company.
- Work closely with various external sales channels (Event Booking Center, Market Sales, Strategic Accounts, etc.) to coordinate sales actions and avoid duplication.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with existing and new clients to encourage future bookings (sales visits, trade shows, etc.).
- Build relationships within the local community to expand the potential clientele for group and catering sales.
- Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external partners.
- Ensure accurate, complete and efficient handover of files to Event Management teams.
- Use the company intranet as a source of information and resources.
- Conduct site inspections of establishments.
- Draft contracts when necessary.
- Actively participate in the daily application of brand service standards.
