Operating Room Technicians (ORT) and/or Instrument Nurses (80-100%)

The EOC, the multisite hospital of Ticino, is present with its institutes throughout the entire cantonal territory for a total of 1,000 beds. To complete our Operating Room team at the Lugano Regional Hospital, we are looking for

Operating Room Technicians (ORT) and/or Instrument Nurses (80-100%)

Profile:

The people we are looking for will work in our two multidisciplinary operating blocks:

• Civic Hospital site (6 rooms): neurosurgery, orthopedics and traumatology, surgery: general - hepatobiliary – thoracic - vascular – laparoscopic and reconstructive plastic, urology, robotics, otorhinolaryngology and gynecology
• Italian Hospital site (4 rooms): general surgery - laparoscopic and reconstructive plastic, orthopedics and traumatology, gynecology, senology, ophthalmology and outpatient interventions.

Profile:

They have solid technical instrumental skills, particularly in neurosurgery, general surgery, thoracic surgery, robotics, vascular surgery, and orthopedics.

They can handle significant workloads and manage difficult moments by setting priorities and making timely decisions. They are able to organize their time efficiently, focusing efforts on the most urgent activities. Sensitive to interpersonal dynamics, they maintain a positive attitude even in complex, high-stress, and unexpected situations and know how to work both independently and in a team.

Necessary requirements:

• Diploma as operating room technician (ORT) and/or instrument nurse (specialization preferred) (or recognized equivalent qualifications)
• At least 2 years of professional experience in a similar position, particularly in neurosurgery, general surgery, robotics, vascular surgery, and orthopedics instrumentation
• Availability and flexibility to work at both sites of the Lugano Regional Hospital (Civic Hospital and Italian Hospital) and to work shifts (including nights and on-call)
• In addition to Italian, knowledge of another national language is preferred
• Essential knowledge of main computer tools (office package).
