Ultimately, as with any other project, the aim was not to reduce returns due to defects and construction damage.

In your view, is quality assurance needed on the client side?

For large projects like Freilager Zurich, yes. The service provided by QualiCasa is an important management tool for a client, allowing regular checks to ensure that construction work complies with applicable standards, the state of the art, and the terms of the contract. It is very valuable that a client representative continuously inspects the work on site. This enables defects to be identified early and corrected in good time.

Would you involve or recommend QualiCasa for other construction projects?

Yes, especially when the project becomes complex due to its size or when potential errors could have significant effects due to repetitive elements (e.g. a high number of apartments). I would evaluate the sensitive and very project-specific quality assurance priorities early on together with the planners and QualiCasa to coordinate planning and site inspections.

Besides the execution phase, are there other times when you see the need for quality assurance?

Yes. I can certainly imagine quality assurance being very helpful during the concept and planning phases. Here, I would involve QualiCasa AG as an integral partner for quality assurance. There are structural defects that can already creep in during the concept and planning phases. These could be avoided through early quality assurance.
