Humanitarian Diplomacy and Strategic Engagement Delegate
Join us for a more humane world!
The Humanitarian Diplomacy and Strategic Engagement Delegate will play a key role in strengthening the Swiss Red Cross (SRC) global engagement and promoting strategic partnerships. Within a dynamic and motivated team, you will contribute to supporting the SRC's multilateral engagement in priority areas such as the promotion of international humanitarian law and humanitarian principles, climate change, migration, and health. This is a fixed-term contract (1 June 2026 - 31 December 2028).
Your area of activity
- Advocacy and humanitarian diplomacy in line with the SRC's strategic priorities, as defined in its 2025-2028 international cooperation programme, including the promotion of international humanitarian law (IHL)
- Strengthening and establishing strategic partnerships within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and with other partners, notably institutional partners and Swiss donors
- Strategic positioning of the SRC at the global level
- Identifying trends and opportunities in the international multilateral funding landscape, and developments in the global humanitarian sector
Your profile
- University degree in international relations, political science, law or a related field; specialisation in international humanitarian law (IHL) and specific training on the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement are an asset
- At least ten years of professional experience in international relations, politics or diplomacy
- Skills in strategic analysis and writing to produce briefing notes and foster strategic engagement with a variety of stakeholders
- Project management experience
- Excellent knowledge of English and French or German (C1+)
