Construction Manager - Main Road Construction
Department of Civil Engineering | 80-100 % | Samedan
The Department of Civil Engineering is responsible for the planning, construction, maintenance and operation of the cantonal roads as well as hydraulic engineering and slow traffic in Graubünden. In addition, we take care of the operational maintenance of the national roads within the canton. The canton’s road infrastructure includes over 1,450 civil engineering structures, including bridges at dizzying heights of up to 90 metres and tunnels up to 3 kilometres long. The challenges posed by the nature of our mountainous canton in summer and winter make our work demanding and varied. We are looking for a Construction Manager - Main Road Construction for the Road Construction Department from 1 November 2026 or by arrangement.
- Management and supervision of assigned construction sites as client representative
- Scheduling and coordination of work
- Ensuring quality, quantity and execution of the entire contract work
- Preparation of cost estimates, tender documents and billing
- Budget monitoring
- Completed vocational training in the construction trade
- Additional training as site manager, foreman, construction manager or equivalent further education
- Several years of professional experience in road and civil engineering
- Practical experience in cost estimation
- Personality with assertiveness, organisational and negotiation skills as well as teamwork ability
- General working language is German; good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage
