Specialised Technical Assistant in the Operating Theatre (STAO) - Main Theatre

To complete its team, the main operating theatre is looking for a specialised technical assistant in the operating theatre (STAO) or a qualified nursing assistant with the prospect of STAO training, at a workload between 80% and 100%.

Context

The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.

The main operating theatre is a multidisciplinary technical platform comprising 15 elective operating rooms divided into 4 activity centres designed to accommodate patients requiring scheduled surgery in one of 11 surgical specialties, and 2 operating rooms dedicated to 24/7 emergency care.

Mission

• You participate in the care and installation of the patient as part of a surgical intervention in a sector of the operating theatre
• You participate in maintaining the patient’s environment and care equipment
• You participate in infection and accident prevention actions
• You contribute to improving the quality and efficiency of care.

Profile

• You hold the certificate of specialised technical assistant in the operating theatre (STAO) or you are a qualified nursing assistant with the prospect of STAO training
• You enjoy working independently, but also in a multidisciplinary team
• You are organised, rigorous and respectful of rules (hospital hygiene, asepsis)
• You possess technical skills (installation of surgical devices and handling of equipment and instruments)
• You have good physical and stress resistance
• You master spoken and written French
• You have prior experience in a medical environment
• Experience with patients is an asset.
