The position is attached to the Department of Women, Children and Adolescents , which aims to provide quality care tailored to the needs of women at every stage of their lives and to the health issues faced by newborns, children and adolescents from birth up to the age of 16. It works on the development of cutting-edge services and centres of expertise in specialities.
The Paediatric Surgery Service covers the surgical treatment of the growing body. It concerns children with congenital malformations, diseases or consequences of accidents; it particularly includes preoperative investigations, surgical treatment and peri- and postoperative follow-up, from birth to adulthood. It also includes the follow-up of potential surgical problems that do not require surgical intervention. The Paediatric Surgery Service is a primary, secondary and tertiary centre: it treats simple and common conditions as well as complex and highly specialised problems. Additionally, Geneva is the only reference centre in Switzerland for paediatric liver diseases and liver transplantation (Swiss Paediatric Liver Centre, CSFE, csfe.hug.ch ).
The paediatric surgery unit is one of two units within the paediatric surgery service of the Department of Women, Children and Adolescents at the Geneva University Hospitals.
Job Description
As a junior doctor, under the supervision of the medical hierarchy, you will carry out the practical and therapeutic activities assigned to you and engage in postgraduate training in paediatric surgery according to the ISFM programme.
You will work in a multidisciplinary team and contribute to teaching and supervision related to a university structure, thus also contributing to the training of medical students.
You will ensure quality medical services, both clinically and administratively as well as organisationally.
Qualifications
You hold a federal medical diploma or have training deemed equivalent by the Medical Professions Commission of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO).
You are recognised for your excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills as well as your ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

For non-French speakers, a C1 level in French is required. C1 knowledge of (Swiss) German is an asset.
