About the job
Your new role
In this position, you are responsible for independently conducting comprehensive investigations in child law as well as in child and adult protection law proceedings on behalf of and in cooperation with the procedural authority members. Preparing and conducting hearings, drafting decision proposals, handling one-off legal transactions and cases for personal precaution, as well as providing statements in appeal proceedings are also part of your new tasks. Additionally, you support parents in maintenance matters and review maintenance agreements.
This position is for you if
- You have a tertiary education in the field of law and ideally relevant further training in child and adult protection law.
- You have professional experience at a KESB, a court, or a youth prosecution office.
- You have knowledge of personal, family, inheritance, and administrative law.
- You present yourself transparently and confidently and are able to maintain professional relationships with the parties involved in the proceedings.
- You can express yourself very well orally and in writing.
- You enjoy engaging with specialist topics and actively contribute in this regard.
- You work conscientiously, responsibly, and precisely.
- You think in a networked and analytical manner.
- You are resilient and flexible.
- You appreciate working in an interdisciplinary team.
- You are a assertive, empathetic, and socially competent personality.

The Child and Adult Protection Authority (KESB) is responsible for implementing child and adult protection law. The KESB Region St.Gallen also fulfils the tasks of the KESB for the political municipalities of Eggersriet, Häggenschwil, Muolen, and Wittenbach. We work in an interdisciplinary team and value the interaction with the affected children, adults, and other parties involved in the proceedings.
