Your new role
As Secretary of the Audit Committee (GPK), you are part of the Financial Control team, which, in addition to your auditing activities, also manages the secretariat of the Audit Committee of the City Parliament. In your role, you are responsible for organising the monthly GPK meetings. As preparation, you independently compile an agenda proposal and prepare all documents. During the meetings, you ensure the demanding and comprehensive minute-taking. Furthermore, you advise and support the Chairperson and the members of the Audit Committee on various matters. You assist the GPK in the development of motions and ensure the flow of information between the committee, the City Council, and the administration. For this interesting position, knowledge of organisation, processes, and accounting in a public administration is advantageous but not a prerequisite.
This position is for you if
- You have completed training in the commercial field and already have several years of professional experience in a comparable position.
- You enjoy organising meetings, demanding minute-taking, and providing administrative support to committees.
- You are interested in political processes and administrative law issues.
- You find it easy to communicate confidently and appropriately for the audience, both orally and in writing.
- You are a reliable and honest person with high social competence, enjoy taking responsibility, and independent working is one of your strengths.
- You have good knowledge of common IT programmes such as Microsoft Teams or Microsoft Office.

The Audit Committee and Financial Control
The Audit Committee examines the management of the City Council and the administration, the city budget, and all matters for which no other committees are responsible. The Audit Committee has the Financial Control at its disposal to fulfil its tasks. The Financial Control of the City of St. Gallen fulfils its mandate as an independent, politically neutral specialist body of financial supervision. Financial Control supports the City Council, the directorates, the administration, and the Audit Committee of the City Parliament in matters of supervision, accounting, and internal control.
What we offer
This is a varied and responsible role at the political heart of the City of St. Gallen. Typically, twelve regular meetings take place annually, at which your presence is required. Outside of meetings, flexible working hours are possible (home office available). You can expect modern employment conditions according to the personnel regulations of the City of St. Gallen. In the course of your work, you will be in contact with the Audit Committee of the City Parliament, the City Council, as well as the management of the directorates, departments, and enterprises of the city.
