About the job
Your Role
As a civil service volunteer, you support the group leaders in caring for children aged 4 to 13 years. You actively participate in everyday care, for example by playing indoors and outdoors, assisting with homework, sharing meals, and engaging in creative activities such as crafting or storytelling.
Additionally, you take on organizational and household tasks, such as setting and clearing tables, helping in the kitchen, and properly disposing of waste. Minor maintenance work is also part of your duties. If needed, you participate in team meetings or supervisions.
The deployment takes place at one of the 15 locations of the day care centers of the City of St. Gallen.

Framework conditions
During the deployment, the following courses must be completed: Care of Children 1, Care of Children 2, as well as Communication and Care. The deployment is planned for a duration of at least 6 months.
Our Department and Division
Children Youth Family is a specialist office for children and young people between 6 and 26 years old, their caregivers, and other interested adults. It takes on tasks such as counseling, providing information, supporting ideas, and accompanying leisure and meeting offers for children and youth.
The Open Work with Children division is responsible for planning and implementing various low-threshold, participatory, socio-pedagogically supervised leisure activities for children of primary school age. It offers different learning fields for children and supports them in their personal development.
