Internship at the Media Office of University Communications (m/f/d)

ETH Zurich is one of the best universities worldwide. As a link between ETH and the public, the University Communications department conveys the university's achievements, concerns, and values both internally and externally. The Media Office of University Communications is looking for an intern for six months starting January 2026 (or by arrangement).
The Media Office is the first point of contact for all questions from media professionals. It advises and supports ETH members in proactive and reactive dealings with journalists.
Job description
In this internship, you will support the colleagues of the Media Office with all daily tasks and get to know the varied work of a media spokesperson:
- You receive inquiries from journalists and answer them together with ETH Zurich experts
- You monitor the media and prepare the weekly media review
- You write and edit texts for different communication channels
- You keep our databases up to date
- You support the team in organizing media events
In the University Communications newsroom, you also have the opportunity to contribute to all communication channels of ETH Zurich – from online news to the print magazine to social media. This gives you an exciting insight into all tasks of a communications department.
Profile
- You are studying ideally in the field of communication/journalism or have recently completed such studies
- You passionately consume the latest news, are interested in the Swiss media landscape, want to gain first experience in media work, and get to know the daily routine of a communications department
- In addition, you are enthusiastic about complex science and research topics
- You are a committed and sociable person who keeps a cool head even in hectic situations
- You communicate confidently in German and have good English skills
