About the job
Chronic pain cannot be treated minute by minute.
Would you like to apply your experience in interventional pain medicine purposefully and accompany patients in the long term? At the same time, are you attracted to a position where you continue to work in the anaesthesiological environment?
Then this exact combination could be the next step in your career. Simply get in touch via email or WhatsApp +41 31 310 98 74 and I can tell you more about this diverse position.
This established pain medicine department is part of a modern cantonal hospital and has built an excellent reputation over many years in the treatment of chronic pain patients. Interventional pain therapy is firmly anchored in the range of services and is offered in a very well-established specialist consultation by an experienced team of pain specialists.
You will become part of a medical team of around 20, including a chief physician, several senior physicians, and about ten senior consultants. The manageable team size enables close professional exchange, short decision-making paths, and collegial cooperation on an equal footing.
Besides pain medicine, you will encounter the entire anaesthesiological spectrum of a modern acute hospital – from surgical anaesthesia through obstetrics to intensive care and emergency services. A special focus lies on ultrasound-guided regional anaesthesia as well as interventional pain medicine. Both areas are practised at a high professional level and offer attractive development opportunities.
The environment is also convincing: The immediate border proximity enables attractive cross-border commuter models. At the same time, you benefit from low taxes, short distances to Germany, and a region with high recreational value between the Rhine, vineyards, and Lake Constance.
Your responsibilities:
- Independent management of an interventional pain consultation
- Performing a wide range of invasive pain therapeutic procedures
- Implantation and follow-up care of modern neurostimulation systems
- Long-term accompaniment of patients with chronic pain syndromes
- Participation in the anaesthesiological operations with varied assignments in the operating theatre
- Involvement in the professional development of the pain centre as well as in interdisciplinary treatment concepts
- Support in the training of younger colleagues
Your competencies:
- Specialist title in Anaesthesiology (FMH or equivalent with MEBEKO recognition)
- Several years of practical experience in interventional pain medicine
- Routine in invasive pain therapeutic procedures
- Enjoyment in long-term patient care as well as holistic pain therapy
- Interest in actively shaping and further developing an established area
- Open, appreciative personality with enthusiasm for interdisciplinary collaboration
Your advantages:
- High proportion of interventional pain medicine with long-term patient care
- Wide range of invasive procedures up to implantation of neurostimulators
- Combination of specialised pain medicine and varied anaesthesiology
- Recognised training centre with a special focus on regional anaesthesia and interventional pain therapy
- Opportunity to actively further develop the area medium to long term and take on responsibility
- Attractive cross-border commuter option with low taxes and good accessibility from Germany
- High quality of life with diverse sports and leisure opportunities right on your doorstep
