Job Description
The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Geneva benefits from an enriching multicultural dynamic to which it contributes through its influence within the framework of its mandates: teaching, research and its partnership with the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG).
The Recombinant Antibodies service ensures the discovery of recombinant antibodies essential for research in Life Sciences, as well as for the development of new therapeutic approaches. It also enables the replacement of laboratory animal use with more powerful fully in vitro techniques.
To strengthen its team, the faculty Recombinant Antibodies service is currently seeking a:
Laboratory Technician 3 at 20%
The main mission of this position is to ensure the operation of the faculty Recombinant Antibodies platform.
Main tasks:
- Expression of protein antigens
- Antibody discovery by phage display
- Production of recombinant antibodies
Required qualifications and skills
- Federal Certificate of Capacity (CFC) as a Biology Laboratory Technician
- In-depth knowledge of cell and molecular biology techniques, and recombinant antibodies
- Recombinant DNA techniques, cloning, expression vectors, phage display
- Cell culture, transfections
- Proficiency in scientific English
