Medical Assistant for the Paediatric Outpatient Clinic
We are looking for a medical assistant for the paediatric outpatient clinic to support several specialty consultations, including pneumology and gastroenterology, at a 70% workload. The starting date is scheduled for 1 October 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research and education.
The Women-Mother-Child Department includes the Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Neonatology, Paediatrics and Child and Adolescent Surgery Services. More than 1,500 professionals work within this department. We care for women throughout their lives in gynaecological, obstetrical and psychosocial aspects as well as children from birth to adolescence.
The general mission of the outpatient clinics is to offer primary and tertiary outpatient services (follow-up of chronic patients and specialised advice) during weekdays for the management of all medical-surgical pathologies of infants, children and adolescents up to adulthood, in a multidisciplinary and comprehensive approach centred on the patient and their family.
Mission
- You participate in carrying out consultation activities in collaboration with doctors and nurses
- You ensure patient reception and perform tasks related to patient administrative management
- You perform medical-technical tasks in the fields of care and/or diagnosis
- You interpret, under medical supervision, the results of specific diagnostic processes, notably lung function tests for the pneumology consultation
- You are responsible for collecting patient data and their computerisation.
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma as a medical assistant or an equivalent qualification
- Professional experience in paediatrics would be an asset
- You have a strong interest in the care and follow-up of chronic outpatients
- Dynamic, autonomous and organised, you possess interpersonal skills and enjoy teamwork.
Depending on the profile, the salary level will be in class 5 or 6.
