Apprentice Operating Room Logistician CFC
Want to organize, prepare and deliver the equipment that allows operating room teams to work without interruption? Join the Patient Supply and Logistics Service of the CHUV from August 2026!
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals and ranks among the best hospitals in the world according to the Newsweek 2025 ranking. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in care, research, and training.
The Supply, Distribution and Storage Service manages the hospital's goods flows: docks, mail, unpacking of sensitive units, and stock management. For the main operating room, it ensures the availability of devices and consumables at the point of use (preparation of carts/kits, timely restocking, traceability), in close connection with the Sterilization Center and the operating room teams.
Mission
- You receive the goods, count, weigh and measure the delivered products, then check their qualitative and quantitative condition
- You store raw materials and/or finished products according to procedures (addressing, safety, FIFO/FEFO) and ensure traceability
- You manage stock flow (restocking, inventories, rotations) using the institution's IT tools
- You prepare the material necessary for surgical interventions (picking, carts, kits) and deliver the units on time
- You place and verify orders, monitor budgets/stocks and report discrepancies
- You maintain handling equipment (pallets, containers, equipment) and apply safety and hygiene rules.
Profile
- You have completed your compulsory schooling with good grades in mathematics and an interest in numbers
- You demonstrate rigor, organizational skills and autonomy (maturity), with a spirit of initiative
- You have good physical and mental endurance (carrying reasonable loads, pace, priorities)
- You enjoy working in a team and communicate clearly; you are comfortable with IT tools.
