Field of work:

Mechanical practitioners manufacture devices, machines, and components. Trained with a focus on "glass materials," this mainly means the production of high-precision fine optics (e.g., lenses, prisms, diffraction gratings). These are assembled into optical modules using manufacturing machines. Accuracy and precision characterize the optical parts, so work is done in the range of thousandths of a millimeter.

Requirements:

• Interest in technical contexts

• Manual dexterity

• Precise and thorough working method

• Reliability, ability to work in a team

• Independent completion of simple tasks

• Secondary school students, students of the small class

Training:

• Duration of apprenticeship, 2 years

• Vocational school, BZR Rorschach
