About the job
Company Description
With more than 13,000 employees representing 160 professions, the Geneva University Hospitals are a nationally and internationally recognised institution. To learn more about our institution, take a few minutes to watch our 2024 retrospective by clicking here .
The position is attached to the Department of Community and Primary Care Medicine (DMCPR). This department combines a societal mission aimed at enabling access to healthcare for all and an academic mission focused on pre- and post-graduate teaching and research in primary care medicine.
The Primary Care Medicine Service (SMPR) provides outpatient care for adult patients within primary care medicine. This service also offers outpatient emergency medical services to the population. As part of the HUG's general interest missions, it provides access to care for disadvantaged populations due to their age, social, economic, or legal status (asylum seekers, rejected asylum applications, undocumented, prisoners), or lifestyle habits; if necessary, the Primary Care Medicine Service also ensures continuity of their care.
Within our service, particularly in outpatient emergencies, interns have the opportunity to train in POCUS (Point-of-Care Ultrasound) component 1 and the AFC abdominal module as part of their curriculum. This training is provided by two accredited supervisors, ensuring quality learning and practical handling of clinical ultrasounds.
Job Description
Your role alternates between the various outpatient consultations of the SMPR, including the Outpatient Emergency Unit.
You ensure quality medical services, both clinically and administratively as well as organisationally.
Alongside your activity, you have the opportunity to benefit from quality postgraduate training contributing to obtaining the specialist title in internal and general medicine.
We offer you the opportunity to join the SMPR at an interesting time of implementing numerous and varied projects.
Furthermore, you participate in a noble and socially important mission as well as exciting and innovative activities, within a university setting and a multidisciplinary, highly qualified team.
The fulfilment of our employees in their mission is an important value for us, with a personalised career path and several prospects for advancement within the institution.
Qualifications
You hold a medical degree or have training deemed equivalent by the Medical Professions Commission (MEBEKO).
Your excellent communication skills allow you to interact within a multidisciplinary team and with patients. You are autonomous, flexible, and show commitment.
Clinical experience within the Geneva hospital and/or outpatient network is desirable.
Two years of training in a Swiss hospital internal medicine service of category A or B, or written assurance of having obtained such a position, are required.
For non-French speakers, a C1 level in spoken and written French is required.
