Company Description
The Official Youth Foundation (FOJ) aims to promote the psycho-social development of children, adolescents and young people in difficulty, in collaboration with parents and partner institutions. Bound by a service contract with the State of Geneva, the FOJ is committed to the protection and defence of the interests of the child.
Serving families in the canton, it operates through four main areas of action: child welfare , emergency reception , family support and preparation for autonomy .
To fulfil its mission, the institution manages 47 facilities across the Canton of Geneva and has 500 places for minors and young adults, offering educational outreach services at home. The FOJ employs 670 staff members.
To successfully carry out its mission, the FOJ is looking for two qualified educators for Maison Yamba , an emergency shelter welcoming babies and very young children aged 0 to 5 years.
Job Description
- Provide daily educational support to babies and children aged 0 to 5 years living in residential care, within a multidisciplinary team
- Meet the physiological, psychological and emotional needs of the children, ensuring a safe living environment
- Offer parenting support (observation of interactions and strengthening of parental skills)
- Assess the needs of the child and parent to contribute to the development of the follow-up plan
- Organise and lead playful and educational activities, adapted to the age and development of the children
- Work closely with placement services and professional network partners
- Actively participate in team meetings: conferences, supervisions and reflection days.
Job Specifics
- Irregular working hours (including nights and weekends).
Work rate: 80 - 85%
Contract duration: from 1st September 2026
Contract type: Permanent contract
Grade: 13 or 15 according to the salary scale of the State of Geneva

Qualifications
- Bachelor in social work (HETS) or
Diploma as a social educator (ES) or
University bachelor (related field to social work) with one year of full-time professional practice in residential care or IGE - Foreign diplomas: official recognition by SEFRI (or an equivalent recognised body) required
- CAS practitioner trainer certificate, an advantage
- Significant prior experience in early childhood
- Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to diverse audiences
- Autonomy, team spirit and initiative
- Good knowledge of the Geneva social network
- Good writing skills in French.

Possession of a driving licence (B)
Swiss nationality or valid work permit required.
