What awaits you.
At the Yverdon workshops, a team of about 250 people carries out mid-life overhauls and revisions of vehicles in the "Passenger Production" division, from dismantling to reassembly and commissioning. The "Yverdon Vehicles" service brings together production and industrialisation projects. As a unit manager, you will lead operational teams and be able to concretely improve quality, deadlines compliance, and cost optimisation – while contributing to the future development of the workshops. The management of this unit is entrusted to two production managers who are jointly responsible for the area.What you can move.
- You lead 6 team leaders, as well as 2 project managers for "revision industrialisation", and assume overall responsibility for a workforce of about 120 employees. You are responsible for implementing the safety culture and the constant respect of SBB values.
- As a unit manager, you ensure that modifications and revisions on vehicles are carried out respecting quality, deadlines, and costs.
- You continuously develop your production lines towards operational excellence, using methods such as Kaizen or new technologies. Investment projects and their implementation on site are also part of your responsibilities.
- As a member of the management team of the area and workshops, you actively participate in its development, represent the unit within various committees, and maintain close and productive collaboration with other organisational units, thereby strengthening our position as a reliable partner.
What you bring.
- To succeed in this new role, you have a solution- and customer-oriented approach, as well as a strong sense of quality. You can also rely on your leadership and communication skills.
- As a unit manager, you have several years of leadership experience in operational areas such as production or maintenance; initial experience in the railway vehicle sector would be an advantage.
- You have higher education, for example ETH/university/FH in a technical field or business administration, as well as solid knowledge in the other field.
- You master French (minimum level C1) and have a good knowledge of German (minimum level B1), in order to communicate with your colleagues at the Olten workshops.
