Job Description
As an (IT) Project Portfolio Manager, you shape and control the strategic direction of the IT project landscape for the entire Swiss Medical Network. You act as the bridge between strategy and execution, ensure that resources are used value-adding, and create transparency about the progress of digital transformation. You foster an efficient, delivery-oriented project culture within the company.
Qualifications
- Education: University degree in business informatics, business administration, or computer science; relevant certifications in project and portfolio management (e.g., IPMA, PMP, Prince2, SAFe/Agile) are a strong plus.
- Experience: Several years of professional experience in multi-project management, PMO, or portfolio management, ideally in a complex, decentralized environment (healthcare is an advantage).
- Methodological Competence: Excellent knowledge of common PM frameworks (Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, Hybrid) and experience in establishing governance structures.
- Analytical Skills: Strong numerical understanding, basic financial knowledge (budgeting/controlling), and the ability to quickly grasp complex relationships and act solution-oriented.
- Personality: An independent, structured, and proactive working style. You are a dynamic personality with a "can-do" mentality who keeps an overview even in hectic phases.
- Communication: High social competence, diplomatic skill, and assertiveness. You communicate confidently at all hierarchy levels, from IT to executive management.
- Languages: Native German and business fluent communication in French as well as good English skills are required due to the national orientation; knowledge of Italian is an additional advantage.
- Tools: Proficient use of PPM tools (e.g., ServiceNow SPM, MS Project) as well as collaboration platforms like Atlassian Confluence/Jira.

Your Responsibilities
- Strategic Portfolio Management: Further development of the IT project portfolio to ensure that all initiatives contribute to the group's strategic business goals.
- Demand Management & Prioritization: Evaluation of new project requests regarding benefits, risks, feasibility, and resource requirements as well as preparation of decision-making bases for the portfolio.
- Project Management: Operational management of complex, group-wide transformation projects as well as active intervention and control in projects in difficulty (task force management) to ensure project success.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Responsibility for overarching portfolio monitoring (status, budget, resources, risks) and creation of target group-specific reports for C-level stakeholders.
- Resource Management: Optimization of resource utilization across various projects and identification of bottlenecks in close coordination with department heads.
- Coaching & Support: Professional support and methodological coaching of project managers to improve delivery quality and adherence to "best practices".
- Financial Controlling: Monitoring of project budgets at the portfolio level and ensuring correct financial planning and accounting in collaboration with the IT controlling team.
- Stakeholder Communication: Regular exchange with stakeholders from medicine, administration, and IT to manage expectations and transparently communicate the strategic roadmap.
