About the job
Intern Youth and Family Counseling 80%The Office for Youth and Career Counseling of the Education Directorate provides, commissions, controls, and coordinates services for child and youth welfare and career counseling. The kjz Winterthur, as one of a total of 15 child and youth welfare centers in the canton of Zurich, ensures a uniform, regionally and municipally well-supported service provision in the areas of youth and family counseling, parenting counseling, mother and father counseling, as well as child protection. The kjz Winterthur is the mandate center for child protection for the KESB Winterthur.
The kjz Winterthur offers two students from a Swiss University of Applied Sciences, majoring in Social Work, a training position for 6 months for the 2nd internship starting September 1, 2026.
As part of the internship, you will gain insight into the following activities:
- Managing civil law child protection measures and clarifications on behalf of authorities and courts
- Clarifying concerns of children, adolescents, mothers, and fathers and initiating supportive measures
- Advising and supporting parents in fulfilling their parenting responsibilities
- Writing applications and reports to authorities and courts
You will have the opportunity to get to know the diverse range of services offered by kjz Winterthur and will be systematically introduced to our tasks. You can expect a lively, varied activity in an institution where interdisciplinary and networked collaboration with other areas of the overall institution takes place.
