Case Manager Debt Counseling & Prevention 60%Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for criminal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The Probation and Enforcement Services (BVD) are one of eight main departments of JuWe and are responsible for the enforcement of custodial sentences and court-ordered measures as well as probation assistance. They make an important contribution to crime prevention and the social integration of offenders.
For the Debt Counseling & Prevention department, we are looking for a socially competent, committed, and communicative personality to start immediately (limited to 1 year).
This is your field of activity
- Independent counseling and support of clients (by phone, in person, and online) taking into account physical, social, health, and legal aspects as well as their resources and deficits
- Preparation, execution, and completion of debt counseling and any follow-up assignments such as debt restructuring according to professional guidelines and standards
- Exchange/contact with authorities and institutions, especially courts, tax authorities, health insurance companies, and collection agencies including negotiations with creditors
- Planning and implementation of preventive offers and measures
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with the measures and probation assistance departments as well as other JuWe institutions
- Representing the topic of debt counseling & prevention at internal and external events (lectures, appearances in institutions, etc.)
- Supporting the case managers of the BVD with questions
What you bring with you
- Degree in Social Work (HF/FH) or commercial training with several years of professional experience, ideally complemented by experience in counseling settings
- Additional qualifications or proven experience in the field of social insurance would be an advantage
- Skilled, clear, and target group-appropriate communication
- High emotional stability as well as psychological resilience and assertiveness
- Enjoy interdisciplinary collaboration and working with offenders
- Impeccable reputation (no entries in the criminal record and debt collection register)
