Strategic Buyer 100% (m/f/d)

What is my role?

Our client - a leading company in the field of high-precision cylindrical grinding technology and part of an international corporate group - requires a Strategic Buyer (m/f/d). In this position, you can expect the following tasks:

• Design and implementation of international category strategies for technical components (hydraulics, pneumatics, operating materials, standard parts, plastic articles)

• Full responsibility for defined categories as well as management of the global supplier base

• Conducting market analyses, identifying new procurement sources and initiating sustainable cost reduction initiatives

• Independent conduct of international contract and price negotiations

• Selection, evaluation and continuous development of suppliers including conducting audits

• Intensive cooperation with the departments of development, production and quality assurance to ensure optimal costs, quality and delivery reliability

• Proactive participation in cross-group purchasing projects and initiatives

What do I need to be successful?

• Successfully completed technical training, ideally supplemented by business management further training with a focus on purchasing or supply chain management

• Solid professional experience in strategic purchasing, preferably in mechanical engineering or related industries

• Technical know-how in the areas of hydraulics, pneumatics and technical components is an advantage

• Practical experience in working with international suppliers as well as intercultural sensitivity

• Strong negotiation skills and a confident appearance

• Very good German skills as well as business fluent English skills in spoken and written form

• Experienced handling of MS Office and ERP systems, SAP experience is desirable

• Analytical, structured and solution-oriented working style

• Strong communication skills and enjoyment of teamwork

• Flexibility for occasional business trips (approximately 5-10% of working time)
