Civil Protection Instructor

The Office for Military and Civil Protection is the cantonal specialist office for all matters concerning the areas of military, civil protection and civil defence and enforces the associated laws.
Civil protection is one of the five partner organisations of civil defence (police, fire brigade, healthcare, technical services, civil protection).
In the canton of Graubünden, around 1700 members of civil protection are assigned and serve in the regional civil protection companies as well as various special units.
The Office for Military and Civil Protection is seeking a Civil Protection Instructor from 1 November 2026 or by arrangement.
- Training and further education of civil protection conscripts in all specialist areas from the rank of private to officer
- Development of function-related and didactic training materials
- Support and advice to commanders and officers of the regional civil protection companies during operations and training
- Operational command of civil protection during incidents
- Advice and support for municipal command staffs
- Personnel, professional and organisational leadership of a civil protection company or a special unit
- Participation in projects
- Professional qualification with several years of professional experience
- Completed training as a civil protection instructor with a federal diploma or willingness to complete it (duration 2 years and 8 months)
- High service orientation and ability to work in a team in an interdisciplinary environment
- Innovative, networked thinking personality with conceptual and communicative strengths
- Experienced organisational, planning and coordination skills
- High social competence, flexibility and resilience
- Good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage
- At least driving licence category B
