The Office of Information Technology (AFI) is the IT competence centre of the Canton of Zurich. It provides comprehensive services in the area of central IT infrastructure and canton-wide applications for the directorates, authorities, judiciary, and independent institutions. Commissioned with the implementation of the new Information and Communication Technology (ICT) strategy, the Office of Information Technology accompanies and supports the Canton of Zurich into the digital world.

Operate and further develop cloud infrastructure and help shape the canton’s digital transformation. As Team Leader Cloud Infrastructure Services, you will take on the professional and personnel leadership of a team of 7 employees and be responsible for the canton-wide cloud infrastructure. Together with your team, you ensure a secure, stable, and future-oriented operation of the cloud platforms and actively drive their strategic development forward.

The Cloud Services team is responsible for the Azure cloud infrastructure, the virtual server platforms, as well as the DevOps and application platforms of the Canton of Zurich, working closely with the other cloud and backend teams of the AFI.

Your tasks:

• You lead the Cloud Services team professionally and personally and continuously develop it.
• You are responsible for the maintenance and further development of the Azure cloud infrastructure, the virtual server platforms, as well as the DevOps and application platforms.
• You ensure 2nd- and 3rd-level support as well as the stable and secure operation of the cloud environments.
• You contribute to the creation and implementation of the canton-wide cloud strategy and take on the solution architecture in the specialist area.
• You advise internal customers and create and review concepts and specifications in the specialist area.
• You lead and supervise external service providers with a focus on service engineering.

Your profile:

• Completed studies (Bachelor or Master) in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable field.
• About 9 years of professional experience, including several years in the specialist area of cloud/infrastructure as well as several years of leadership experience, ideally in provider management.
• Sound knowledge of cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure Cloud.
• Experience with virtual server platforms, DevOps environments, and application platforms.
• Very good German and English skills (technical English).
• Willingness to be scheduled for on-call duty if required.
