Supervisor / Care Worker Custodial - fixed term 80 - 100%With around 1,400 employees, the Justice Custody and Reintegration (JuWe) is responsible for criminal and measures custody as well as for the execution of various types of detention. Our employees from around 40 professions support and promote the reintegration of offenders and are committed effectively and progressively to a safe and just society.
As part of the Zurich Remand Prisons (UGZ), the Pfäffikon Prison (GFP) operates, in addition to remand custody, a specialised security department for various forms of detention. Inmates from all over Switzerland who require increased personnel supervision and specific security measures due to special requirements are accommodated there.
For our custodial service, we are looking for a committed and resilient person to support our team energetically, starting immediately or by arrangement. The position is limited to one year, with the option of a permanent contract.
Your field of activity
- You supervise, advise and lead the inmates with clarity, empathy and a sense of responsibility
- In challenging situations, you keep a cool head, recognise crises early and ensure a safe, calm prison routine
- You support the personal development of the inmates and thus actively contribute to their reintegration
- In the control centre, you keep an overview of all security systems, coordinate emergencies and ensure smooth operations during walks and internal transfers
- You also keep an overview administratively. You write reports and document events reliably and precisely
- Shift, weekend, night and special duties are as natural to you as contributing to quality assurance and the further development of operations
What you bring with you
- A completed education (federal vocational certificate, (specialist) matriculation or equivalent qualification)
- Very good German skills as well as good knowledge of at least one other language and confident IT user skills
- A communicative, responsible and resilient personality who remains calm even in demanding situations
- Flexibility, humour and team spirit. You actively contribute and help to foster a respectful and supportive team environment
- A minimum age of 25 years and an impeccable reputation (no entries in the criminal or debt register)
