Your main tasks and responsibilities
- Agentic AI (incl. RAG, Retrieval Augmented Generation) applications implementation: Design, implement and maintain Agentic AI applications to support various areas of Octapharma’s core business (such as Manufacturing Science and Technologies, Research & Development, Sales)
- Model and solution monitoring: Design, implement and maintain monitoring solutions for our Agentic AI applications to ensure the highest possible quality of output for users
- Knowledge graphs: Implement and maintain relevant knowledge graphs that capture critical information about Octapharma’s knowledge and processes to support Agentic AI solutions.
- Machine Learning Operations (MLOps): design, implement, automate and maintain scalable machine learning pipelines using MLflow on Databricks. This work is done in collaboration with business partners.
- Data transformations: Design, implement and maintain data and orchestration pipelines to power generative AI solutions.
- Collaboration and Training: Work with the rest of IT and data science teams to integrate state-of-the-art generative AI solutions into business processes and workflows. Provide training and support to end-users if necessary.
- Regulatory compliance: Ensure all AI solutions comply with regulatory standards in the pharmaceutical industry, utilizing Azure security and compliance features.
- Coach and support teams in the various business functions to help them onboard onto relevant AI solutions (including but not limited to agentic platforms built on Databricks) and fully leverage the potential of these technologies.
Your expertise and ideal skill set
- Educational Background: At least a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in an international, distributed team and successfully interact with stakeholders.
- Fluent in English. German is a plus.
- Data & AI Engineering Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in data and/or AI engineering, with a strong focus on cloud native technologies.
- Agentic AI: Demonstrated experience in deploying and maintaining Agentic and/or RAG-based applications using Databricks or another equivalent cloud-based technology.
- Monitoring: Demonstrated experience in building successful monitoring capabilities for AI solutions in productions (either ML, RAG or Agentic)
- Machine Learning: Demonstrated experience in building Machine Learning models and promoting ML pipelines across different environments, including production.
- Proficiency in Python with a strong focus on task orchestration, machine learning and genAI libraries, and demonstrated experience of collaborative work on code development and version control systems (e.g. GitHub, GitLab, or equivalent)
- Experience with cloud platforms is required. Azure knowledge is a plus.
- Any Azure or Databricks certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of MLflow is a plus.
- Experience working in regulated industries such as pharma or healthcare is a plus.
