The SCHAFFHAUSER SPECIAL SCHOOLS are an independent public-law institution of the canton of Schaffhausen. More than 480 children and young people with physical and/or cognitive impairments, with speech, hearing or other profound developmental disabilities are currently taught and supported integratively in the regular schools of the canton or separately at four locations in the city of Schaffhausen. In addition to various therapy offers, we run a school-complementary area with lunch, day structure and boarding school. Over 570 employees are committed in various functions at the SCHAFFHAUSER SPECIAL SCHOOLS.
We are currently looking for a school assistant at our Granatenbaumgut school building with a workload of 40-60% of a full-time position. You assist in classes with up to seven students. This applies to our school area for children and young people with intellectual disabilities and multiple disabilities. The students learn in mixed classes. Their abilities and interests are taken into account. The goal is to strengthen their personality and promote them in various areas.
You work closely with the teachers in a small team. You support and accompany the students in internal and external activities of daily life. You take partial responsibility when working with the children and young people and consider and strengthen their personal resources. You respond confidently to challenging behaviors and guide the students towards appropriate social behavior.
