For a leading Swiss company with a highly available and technologically sophisticated IT infrastructure, we are looking for an experienced individual as an Expert System Engineer.
You don’t just want to operate existing networks, but actively further develop modern data centre and security solutions? In this responsible role, you take on a key position within a complex enterprise environment and work on infrastructures that place the highest demands on availability, security and performance.

In doing so, you contribute to architectural decisions, drive automation forward and take responsibility for central network platforms.

Expert System Engineer 80 to 100 Percent

Job Description

• You plan, design and implement demanding projects in the areas of data centre network, network security and related systems.
• You take technical responsibility for a modern Cisco ACI network landscape as well as the associated load balancer infrastructure.
• You actively develop network automation further and use modern technologies and methods for this, ideally with Ansible and Git.
• You develop technical concepts, architectural specifications and operational standards and ensure high-quality system and operational documentation.
• You continuously analyse, optimise and develop existing network and security solutions.
• You support 3rd level support, analyse complex faults and ensure sustainable solutions.
• You perform periodic on-call duty in a cycle of around six to eight weeks.
• You advise internal stakeholders at eye level and develop practical solutions for demanding technical issues.

We expect

• Completed degree at university of applied sciences level in computer science, network technology or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of experience in the Cisco enterprise or service provider environment.
• Sound knowledge of Cisco ACI with practical experience in design, configuration and operation of modern data centre networks.
• Experience in routing, switching, network security and highly available network architectures.
• Interest in automation, modern infrastructure platforms as well as new network and security technologies.
• Enjoyment in critically questioning existing solutions and continuously further developing them.
• Conceptual thinking and the ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly.
• Independent, structured and solution-oriented working style.
• Very good German skills as well as good English skills.
