For our Roggenhausen Wildlife Park, we are looking for a dedicated and nature-oriented individual as a wildlife caretaker due to the upcoming retirement of the current position holder in September 2026.
In this versatile position, you will take full responsibility for the care, feeding, and breeding of our wild animals, which primarily include deer, ibex, and wild boars. A significant part of your work is also devoted to the careful maintenance and care of the animal enclosures as well as the entire park area. You will work closely in a small, well-coordinated team of three, with independent work being a prerequisite. Your duties also include co-supervising and guiding an apprentice. Furthermore, you maintain a correct and friendly interaction with park visitors and are a loyal contact person on site. You are also willing to work on weekends and public holidays and possess a category B driving license.
We expect a completed education in a technical, agricultural, or forestry field, for example as a farmer, forest ranger, or landscape gardener. Ideally, you already have training as a wildlife caretaker or have many years of experience with wild animals. A hunting license and experience as a skilled hunter are indispensable for this position. Additionally, we require experience in apprentice supervision. The work is physically demanding, so robust health and willingness to work in all weather conditions are necessary. We are looking for a loyal, independent, and team-oriented personality who integrates collegially into our team.
We offer you a long-term perspective in a unique environment where you can bring your passion for nature and wildlife into your daily work. You can expect a responsible position with a lot of independence within a motivated small team, fair working conditions, and equal opportunities. As an employee, you benefit from financial contributions to Lunch Check, Reka Pay Card, fitness subscriptions, and other benefits.
We look forward to your application. Your questions will be gladly answered by Mr. Daniel Müller, Head of Local Community Property and Rental Properties, T 062 843 45 95.
