Research officer within the Clinical and Translational Trials Unit

The Clinical and Translational Trials Unit of medical oncology is seeking a research officer at a workload of 80% to 100%, on a fixed-term contract until 31 October 2027. The starting date is planned from 1 November 2026 or to be agreed.

Context

The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.

The Department of Clinical Oncology (DOC) brings together the Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Haematology Services, including bone marrow transplantation activities. It combines clinical expertise, research, and innovation to offer patients increasingly personalised care.

The Medical Oncology Service is the largest specialised platform in Switzerland in its field. Its Clinical and Translational Trials Unit supports the development and coordination of innovative clinical studies, contributing to advancing knowledge and treatments in oncology.

Mission

• You prepare clinical and translational studies in compliance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements
• You coordinate studies throughout their course, in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), in collaboration with medical teams, nursing staff, and research partners
• You participate in the management, monitoring, and quality control of clinical and translational data according to GCP standards
• You ensure the administrative and documentary follow-up of research projects as well as the preparation of documents necessary for the different stages of the studies
• You contribute to the smooth running of projects by fostering close collaboration between the various stakeholders and ensuring compliance with deadlines and procedures

Profile

• You hold a Master’s degree in life sciences or an equivalent qualification
• You have at least 2 years of experience in clinical study management; experience in oncology or in coordinating complex studies is an asset
• You master Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and are comfortable in a regulated environment
• You have excellent command of French and a good level of English, both spoken and written
• You are proficient with common IT tools and adapt easily to new software
• You appreciate interdisciplinary exchanges, demonstrate autonomy, rigour, organisation, and possess excellent team spirit
• Proactive, versatile, and with good communication skills, you know how to manage several projects simultaneously with method and precision.
