The Clinic for Geriatric Psychiatry has 17 inpatient treatment places for adults over 65 years old. The openly managed ward offers a structuring and activating environment to support and promote self-responsibility and self-healing powers. The interdisciplinary team consists of specialists in psychiatry, psychotherapy, nursing, social work, occupational therapy, as well as body and art therapy.
We are an SSPM-recognised training centre for psychiatry and psychotherapy and have full training accreditation for the specialisations in geriatric psychiatry and psychotherapy (A2 inpatient and outpatient) and consultative and liaison psychiatry (A2).
We are seeking from 1 September 2026 or by arrangement a
Therapeutic Lead in Geriatric Psychiatry (a) 80–100%
Responsibilities
- You will jointly assume therapeutic leadership of the open geriatric psychiatric ward with 17 treatment places together with the nursing ward management
- You will be responsible for the interdisciplinary therapeutic process from admission and therapy planning to aftercare planning and patient discharge, coordinate treatments, and supervise the treatment team, especially the case managers
- You will jointly take on the professional and personnel leadership of the interdisciplinary therapeutic team (psychological, medical) together with the clinic management
- You will further develop the treatment concept and implement it in daily practice
- You will participate in the consultative care of hospital patients and in the integrated psychiatric emergency service
Profile
- Swiss-recognised psychotherapy qualification (FSP or equivalent) or specialist title in clinical psychology
- Interest in psychological and somatic aspects of mental health and enjoyment of interdisciplinary discourse with various medical specialties
- Experience working with older adults – ideally in an inpatient psychiatric setting
- Enjoyment of therapeutic leadership responsibility and the further development of treatment concepts
- Team-oriented thinking and acting and active assumption of responsibility for the further development of our services and ensuring high-quality treatment
- You present yourself confidently and communicate empathetically – with patients, relatives, and within the team
