Finance and Projects Specialist 80 - 100%The Health Directorate of the Canton of Zurich ensures a high-quality and safe healthcare provision. The Finance Department in the General Secretariat is responsible for the financial management of the Directorate and accounting. It also oversees the area of individual premium reductions (IPV) and verifies the correct use of allocated state contributions through state contribution audits.
For the department, we are seeking a Finance and Projects Specialist as of 1 January 2027 or by agreement. Together with the Head of Controlling and Head of Accounting, you will engage in a diverse range of tasks and drive projects forward.
Your tasks
- Collaborate in the implementation of the uniform financing of inpatient and outpatient services (EFAS) and its further development in the finance area
- Support reporting, year-end closing, and preparation of the annual report
- Prepare audit-compliant documents for financial control
- Develop proposals and financial decision-making bases for the Directorate management, the Government Council, and parliamentary commissions
- Participate in the further development of the internal control system (ICS), financial processes, and digitalisation projects
- Reporting and further development of Directorate-wide risk management
- Independently lead finance-related projects
Your profile
You have a university degree in finance or a comparable qualification (e.g. auditor, expert in accounting and controlling) and bring several years of practical experience in accounting, controlling, and/or auditing. You are accustomed to dealing with contacts at various levels. We are looking for a committed, flexible, and team-oriented personality with a high sense of responsibility and an independent, structured, and results-oriented working style. Experience with finance-related processes in administration or the Swiss healthcare system as well as good Excel, data analysis, and SAP skills are a plus but not essential. More important to us are your interest in the further development of healthcare provision, your enthusiasm for challenges, and your analytical and conceptual skills, which you combine with implementation strength.
