Aigle becomes a branch of the 12th edition of the

Lausanne City Book Prize

In collaboration with the Culture division of the municipality of Aigle, the Aigle Media Library and the Le Chrono’page bookshop in Aigle, the 12th edition of the Lausanne City Book Prize sets up in the Chablais region for 3 evenings of discovery and activities around the 5 novels selected.

The Lausanne City Book Prize partners with other cities and book venues in French-speaking Switzerland to promote the authors of the selection and encourage reading through a 100% public vote. Aigle thus officially becomes a branch of the Lausanne City Book Prize. The collaboration between the Lausanne City Book Prize and the municipality of Aigle was initiated by several Aigle entities composed of the cultural commission, the Media Library and the Le Chrono’page bookshop, supported by the Municipality.

As an official branch, Aigle hosts 3 evenings of activities open to all:

• Thursday 11 September 2025, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Aigle Media Library for an evening presenting the 5 selected books.
• Thursday 27 November 2025, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Aigle Media Library for an evening of discussions around the 5 books competing for the prize.
• Tuesday 10 February 2026, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at the Le Chrono’page bookshop in Aigle for an evening of meeting and signing with the winner.

The Lausanne City Book Prize annually rewards a novel written by an author from French-speaking Switzerland, published in the past year. It aims to highlight the diversity and richness of the French-speaking literary scene, promote regional authors, and encourage reading. The 12th edition, under the patronage of Lausanne filmmaker Lionel Baier, honours the following 5 novels:

• "Les petites musiques" by Roland Buti, (Zoé)
• "La mécanique des ailes" by Chloé Falcy, (Hélice Hélas)
• "Le printemps peut-être" by Léna Furlan, (Slatkine)
• "Le Match du siècle" by Philippe Lamon, (Cousu Mouche)
• "Calcaires" by Antoine Rubin, (La Veilleuse)

Voting is open to everyone now until 31 December 2025. The announcement of the winner will take place on 2 February 2026 during the award ceremony at the Théâtre de Vidy-Lausanne.

The Municipality of Aigle is pleased to contribute to a recognised literary event and to involve its citizens, as well as the entire Chablais population, in this flagship event of French-speaking literature.
