Job description
A position in the biology group, working on the discovery and characterization of therapeutics against neurodegenerative disorders. AC Immune is seeking a highly qualified Senior Research assistant to expand the company's efforts in research and development within AC Immune's neuroinflammation and TDP-43 teams. The candidate must possess technical background in immunology or neuroscience and more specifically in immunoassays, assay development and optimization, data analysis, interpretation, documentation, and general laboratory organization. The candidate must have demonstrated ability in maintaining an excellent record of protocol and experiments in laboratory notebooks. Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and perform immunoassays and binding studies using various techniques, including but not limited to ELISAs, AlphaLISA, immunoblotting, immunostaining, SPR and fluorescent microscopy
  • Assay development and optimization of new assays when needed
  • Data analysis using specialized software tools, interpretation, and discussion of results with team members
  • Keep good laboratory notebook records of all experiments performed, including methods used, results and interpretation of results
  • Manage and keep track of reagents
  • Maintain general laboratory organization, including regular ordering for reagents and maintenance of lab equipment
Qualifications & Skills
The candidate should have the following qualifications:
  • Master's degree or equivalent education, with specialization and good background in biology
  • At least three years of professional experience is preferred
  • Extensive experience in performing immuno-assays, such as ELISAs, western blots, immunostaining, fluorescent microscopy and carry out assay development and optimization
  • Experience in binding assays using SPR
  • Experience in assay development, optimization, and data analysis
  • Excellent work organization and data documentation
  • Flexibility and be ready to learn new techniques as needed
