Cloud Platform Site Reliability Engineer (all genders)

Are you an experienced engineer with a passion for resilient software systems? Take the lead in ensuring our systems can weather any storms. AXA Switzerland is migrating most applications to the public cloud. The Cloud Center of Excellence is a team of 12 cloud engineers which maintains the cloud platform foundation for AXA Switzerland's product teams, integrates the platforms with additional tooling and builds automation and templates to empower the DevOps teams in their migration and usage of the platform. We are working with Azure, OpenShift and GCP and use Terraform and Ansible to manage applications on these platforms. In this role you will be part of the Cloud Center of Excellence and will focus on increasing resilience of our software systems and platforms. Specifically, you will lead the disaster recovery activities, head challenges regarding reversibility and fast isolation. You will co-create with our product teams, the business continuity management team, enterprise architecture and information security and liaise with AXA's global infrastructure teams to achieve these goals. This is a challenging and rewarding role, that offers the chance to make an impact on our software landscape, our engineering culture and our customers.

Your contribution

  • Responsibility for the operative and technical disaster recovery (DR) tests & procedures
  • Improve the DR architecture & concepts for our workloads on Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform and OpenShift
  • Lead the implementation of automated procedures, templates & scripts related to DR, reversibility and fast isolation
  • Disaster recovery testing of all applications running on the Cloud
  • Be a leading voice in our engineering community to drive technical and organizational change to improve resilience

Your capabilities and talents

  • A background in software or system engineering
  • Experience operating complex software systems
  • A strong motivation to learn and improve your skills and the organization around you
  • An inherent drive towards automation and technical excellence
  • Fluency in English and preferably also German

Around 600 software and system developers work for AXA in Switzerland and are developing tomorrow's technology inhouse. To do this, we are also working in global teams and networks. Our agile product teams organize themselves and work independently where they are responsible for everything from A to Z.
