You will help with oversight of country-specific insurance and risk management activities to ensure that we comply with local regulatory requirements and align with our risk management strategies. You will advise the regional business on operational risk management including day-to-day business, contract review and risk assessment for new and ongoing business opportunity. Member of the global risk management team, you will work under the direction of the Senior Manager Europe. You will analyse, quantify and assess risks arising from operations of 18 countries in North Europe and Central Europe and ensure that those risks are managed and financed to an acceptable tolerance through retention, risk transfer and control arrangements established by the Corporate Risk Management team.

How you will contribute

You will:

  • Be responsible for a group of countries’ business risk assessment and remediation, projecting balance sheet and cash flow impacts, local insurance administration and control claims incurred
  • Provide support and advisory service to the business on general insurance and risk issues, including dealing with insurance coverage queries, issuing confirmation of coverage and guidance on contractual indemnity/insurance provisions
  • Coordinate the gathering and presentation of underwriting data, including insured values and business activity descriptions/quantification of one group insurance program
  • Participate to the insurance claims activity to ensure processes are in place and known by the countries under your responsibility
  • Advise UK & Ireland on insured/uninsured Employers Liability disease liabilities in relation to legacy operations
  • Assist with budget construction of insurance costs and prompt payment of premium invoices
  • Participate on cross functional / cross regional teams to standardize and replicate risk management processes to continually improve processes and reduce costs
  • Take a major role in the management of the group automobile insurance program
  • Be responsible of collecting, analyzing and presenting Automobile, General Liability and Employer’s Liability claim statistics internationally through IRM – Risk Connect our Risk Management Information System
  • Advise the regional Procurement staff on suppliers’ risks and how to mitigate them
  • Place local insurance policies
  • Partner with region cross-functional business teams on projects to ensure contractual risk transfer and/or risk acceptance is aligned with our corporate strategies

What you will bring

A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career. You will bring experience and knowledge in:

  • TECHNICAL EXPERTISE in risk management and insurance practices, underwriting, brokering and/or engineering training. Fundamental understanding of property and casualty insurance program concepts and terminology
  • BUSINESS ACUMEN and understanding of our business and finance in the region. Relevant experience in risk management for a large global corporation or experience in an insurance company, underwriter or brokerage
  • LEADERSHIP SKILLS including proven business partnering, negotiation and communication skills across a large global, public company. Proven project management skills
  • GROWTH/DIGITAL MINDSET and ability to identify strategic opportunities and leverage technology to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • INTEGRITY and sound judgement in all decisions and interactions aligned with our values and policies and external regulations

Education / Certifications:

  • Degree or professional qualification - preferably in an insurance or finance related subject

Job specific requirements:

  • Experience in risk management and/or insurance and/or insurance brokerage
  • Ability to set and deliver on agenda commitments
  • Adaptable and constructive approach is essential in order to manage change programs
