To succeed the current director of the CPPS, who is retiring, the School of Engineering of the HES-SO Valais-Wallis is inviting applications for the following position within its Institute of Systems Engineering:
Professor UAS and director of the Earthquake Prevention Learning Centre (CPPS) (40-50 %)
Position description
-
Scientific and operational management of the CPPS at the Energypolis campus.
-
Development and implementation of the CPPS strategy in alignment with cantonal policy, the strategic priorities of relevant cantonal services and research institutes active in the field of natural hazards.

Acquisition, management and implementation of relevant research and innovation projects within the Institute of Systems Engineering.

Development and delivery of relevant continuing education programmes at CAS level.

Expansion of partnerships at national and international level.

Design and coordination of educational activities delivered within the CPPS.

Promotion of the CPPS.
Selection criteria
-
Tertiary qualification in natural hazards or seismology.
-
Proven track record in the acquisition and management of projects.

Demonstrated experience in education.

Strong interest in natural hazard prevention.

Ability to establish and develop institutional and academic partnerships.
-
Active participation in the applied research ecosystem of the Energypolis campus.
-
Excellent command of French and English; knowledge of German would be a strong asset.
