Research and Development Intern in Materials

We are seeking a motivated and curious student to contribute to the fine-tuning of thermo-mechanical properties of materials processed by our Electro Sinter Forging (ESF) technology.

Your role

The internship will take place at our Villaz-St-Pierre facility and will combine experimental work with data analysis and materials characterization. The work may include:

• Preparation and processing of test samples using the ESF equipment
• Design and execution of mechanical and thermal testing campaigns
• Microstructural and physical characterization (e.g., microscopy, density, hardness, or electrical conductivity measurements)
• Measurement and analysis of the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of ESF materials
• Comparative analysis with conventionally sintered or forged materials to benchmark performance
• Support in developing or testing new material systems and optimizing processing parameters

Your profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s student in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Physics
• Interest in powder metallurgy, sintering, and advanced materials processing
• Laboratory experience (materials preparation, testing, or microscopy) is an asset
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication skills in English
