Diplomatic Security Officer (Local Guard Force)

In Switzerland, VxL provides professional protective services for U.S. Government personnel, facilities, and equipment in close coordination with U.S. and host-nation authorities.
Position Overview
VxL Switzerland is seeking highly motivated and disciplined security professionals to serve in uniformed protective roles, ranging from entry-level guard positions to supervisory assignments. Personnel perform access control, patrol, monitoring, and protective duties at U.S. Government facilities in and around Bern.
Successful candidates will receive structured training from VxL and U.S. Government partners and will operate under clearly defined authorities and procedures consistent with Swiss law and U.S. Government security standards.
Employment Conditions
Successful candidates will:
a) Complete a VxL-sponsored, 80-hour protective security training and certification program conducted in Bern during Q1 2026;
b) Initially be employed part-time/on-call for a period of approximately 4–10 months following hire (conversion to full-time employment is strongly anticipated based on performance and operational requirements);
c) Demonstrate English language proficiency at CEFR B1 or higher; German language proficiency at CEFR B1 or higher is strongly preferred;
d) Hold a valid Swiss residence and work permit at the time of application;
e) Reside within one hour commuting distance of Bern; and
f) Successfully pass background vetting, including verification of criminal history and financial reliability, in accordance with Swiss regulations and U.S. Government suitability requirements.
