I was interviewed for a position in the maintenance department. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.
Right from the start of the interview, the team leader spent most of the time criticizing three members of his team, divulging internal and personal information that didn't concern me and should never have been brought up in a recruitment context.
Rather than clearly explaining the tasks, the organization of the department or the expectations of the job, he tried to get me to take sides against his colleagues, by pointing out their supposed mistakes and shortcomings. I found this attitude far removed from the professionalism and respect expected of a manager.
People already working in the company later confirmed to me that this type of behavior was habitual on the part of this same manager, which leads me to believe that it can have a negative impact on the working climate and team cohesion.
All in all, I came away from this interview with a very negative impression and a total loss of interest in the job on offer, due to the attitude of the manager I met.
