What works well?

The main positive aspect of my experience was the relationships with certain colleagues. I observed a genuine sense of solidarity within the team, particularly when organizational or professional challenges arose. I also had the opportunity to work on projects that required dedication and technical skills, which allowed me to gain experience and put my knowledge to good use. That said, these two positive aspects are clearly not enough to compensate for the enormous shortcomings and difficulties I encountered regarding management, recognition, compensation, internal communication, and work organization at KIDAN SA.

What could be improved?

After nearly two years of full-time work at KIDAN SA, my personal experience has been, overall, very negative. In my opinion, the main areas for improvement are management and internal communication. I experienced a toxic work environment characterized by excessive control and micromanagement, where it was difficult to showcase my expertise. Disagreements and constructive feedback were not always received positively. I would have appreciated more trust, active listening, and autonomy in carrying out my responsibilities. Compensation was also an issue for me. It was significantly lower than the standards I observed in the Swiss market for comparable roles. Furthermore, certain pay cuts were difficult for me to understand and clearly unjustified, especially in IT. Despite meeting my goals and making a significant professional commitment, there was no recognition commensurate with the effort expended. Communication regarding certain internal decisions and departures could also be greatly improved. In my experience, certain decisions were communicated hastily, without explanation and/or justification, which created a sense of uncertainty within the team. I also found that certain internal rules and policies changed erratically, with a lack of clarity regarding their rationale. In my opinion, more consistent and transparent communication would help create a more peaceful work environment. Finally, I would have appreciated more flexibility in how work is organized. Remote work, even on a part-time basis, was not allowed, which struck me as out of step with the image of a modern and agile company. Overall, I believe KIDAN SA could significantly improve its employees’ experience by strengthening trust, active listening, recognition, transparency, and flexibility.
