Your tasks

As a Bioprocessing Postdoctoral Researcher / Senior Scientist, you will play a critical role in our research on bioprocess monitoring and automation using Raman spectroscopy. Your primary responsibility will be the generation of bioprocess data and subsequent data analysis and mathematical modeling, with the aim to build reliable calibration and control platforms. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in bioprocessing, mathematical modeling, machine learning, control theory and automation, working collaboratively with the team to drive innovation and scientific excellence. 
  • establish a novel platform for the use of Raman spectroscopy in bioprocesses, in close collaboration with industrial partners
  • run bioprocesses to collect meaningful data for subsequent calibration and control model design
  • apply various analytical techniques to generate data, and subsequently use this data for model building and implementation
  • troubleshoot technical issues and propose creative solutions to improve experimental and automation protocols
  • present research findings through internal reports, scientific publications, and presentations at international conferences

The contract is limited until the 31.08.2026

Your profile

  • recent PhD graduate or currently a PostDoc in a quantitative field such as (bio)chemical engineering, process engineering, biotechnology, bioinformatics, data science or similar. 
  • highly motivated with a passion for applied scientific research and technical innovation
  • proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools
  • experience in programming languages commonly used in data analysis such as Python, R or Matlab
  • experience in Wet-lab fermentation / bioprocessing techniques is desirable, but not a must
  • ability to work collaboratively in an international team environment and engage in cross-functional projects with several industrial partners
  • strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • excellent communication and reporting skills in English are mandatory.
