Project Manager Coordination & Communication

At the Department of Environmental Systems Science (D-USYS), we are starting the joint revision of our two BSc study programmes in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences to meet current societal challenges and changing educational needs, and to implement the ETH-wide reform PAKETH . To this end, we will (1) further develop competence-oriented curricula, (2) implement innovative project-based teaching formats throughout both curricula, (3) effectively implement PAKETH, and (4) exploit synergies between the study programmes while maintaining their unique identities.

Project background

You will be a key member of the project team and your work will be pivotal for the further development of the educational landscape of D-USYS. You will work closely with the department's teaching team and interface with our professors, lecturers, students, project partners, and other stakeholders. This position is set up in a dynamic and collaborative working environment where your efforts will directly contribute to the ambitious study programme revisions of D-USYS.

Starting date: July 1st, 2024 or upon agreement.

Job description

  • You coordinate the ongoing revision process, monitor the project and its finances: Optimise and manage the daily workflows, keep all contributors motivated, aligned and progressing efficiently, and ensure that the objectives are achieved in cooperation with the project lead.
  • You organize key events: Plan and carry out key project events such as meetings and workshops that are critical to project success and stakeholder engagement.
  • You ensure effective communication and facilitate networking: Act as the main communicator for the project, disseminate key information to all relevant stakeholders, build and maintain relationships.

Profile

  • Higher education degree in a relevant discipline (natural sciences, engineering, business administration, communication) with a basic understanding of environmental and/or agricultural sciences.
  • Project management expertise with a track record of completed projects, ideally in the context of higher education.
  • Experience with curriculum development and program coordination that demonstrates an understanding of educational project management needs and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English in a variety of formats and environments, ability to build bridges between different groups and to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and involved.
  • Strong networking skills with a proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships, foster partnerships, and engage with diverse groups.
  • Highly organized and capable of working independently, consistently maintaining the highest standards in your work.
