Student Assistantship in SNF-project DramaSCAPEs

The English Department of the University of Zurich invites applications for a student assistant to start on 1 August 2024 in the SNF-funded project DramaSCAPEs at the Chair for Early Modern English Literature (Prof. Dr. Isabel Karremann). This student assistant position is initially limited to one year, with the possibility of extension until the MA-degree has been completed. The position is open to students at the English Department.

Your responsibilities

Our student assistant will support the project leader, Prof. Karremann, and her team in administering the project, organizing workshops and conferences, and the creation of an online glossary of theoretical concepts related to the project. You will also participate in team meetings and our bi-weekly reading group. Through this, you will get in touch with the most current research in early modern studies, giving you the opportunity to work on your MA-thesis on a related topic.


Your profile

Candidates should be proficient in both English and German and have an excellent BA degree in the field of English literature. You should take a strong interest in Renaissance literature and early modern drama. You are keen to work in a team collaborating on research framed by recent theoretical approaches in the field of early modern studies.


What we offer

We offer a student assistantship position with a workload of 10-20% in a collegial, supportive and stimulating work environment. The position is initially limited to a one-year period, with possible extension until the MA-degree has been completed.
