OVERALL PURPOSE

We are currently seeking to appoint an Associate - Network Engineer in our IT Infrastructure department based in Crissier (VD), Switzerland. The main purpose of the role is to work with the Infrastructure Team, providing advices, and taking care of engineering, support and troubleshooting of networks and infrastructure. This is a technical hands-on job, which requires solid technical knowledge of networks and infrastructure. The position reports to the Head of Datacenter and Networks based in Crissier. Other working relationships include all members of the local and Group IT team, users worldwide and external suppliers.

PRINCIPAL ELEMENTS & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Maintain network uptime and applications performing at peak
  • Provision, configure, setup and maintain network equipment's
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity problems and performance issues
  • Proactively monitor and audit network for faults and general improvements
  • Maintain company procedures current and aligned with Senior Management requirements
  • Participate to the network security by designing and maintaining firewalls
  • Participate to the monitoring of infrastructure and networks
  • Participate to the infrastructure lifecycle as a stakeholder
  • Participate to infrastructure on-call incidents and tickets resolution

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 5 years of previous hands-on experience with networks
  • Previous experience in a similar position - experience in a NOC appreciated
  • University degree / Professional Qualification with proven experience
  • Good knowledge of industry-standards and open to NoOps and DevSecOps methodology and concepts
  • English at Business level (C1); French an advantage
  • Vendor certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCDP, JNCIA, JNCP, PNCSE - an advantage

SKILLS

  • Excellent knowledge of IP networks - OSI Layer 1 to 7 with Cisco IOS and Juniper Junos (both actively)
  • Excellent knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRRP, HSRP, EIGRP, QoS, LACP, SPAN, VPN, 802.11, Radius
  • Excellent documentation, tasks and time tracking skills with tools including Visio, Confluence, JIRA, Netbox
  • Good knowledge of monitoring - SNMP and flow-based such as Zabbix, LibreNMS, SevOne, OpsGenie
  • Good knowledge of next-generation firewalls such as CheckPoint, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Juniper
  • Good knowledge of Linux OS and Microsoft Windows and virtualization hypervisors (KVM, Hyper-V, ESXi)
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation - Python and Ansible preferred and keen to develop those skills
  • Knowledge of production acceptance processes and VoIP systems (Cisco UCM) highly appreciated
  • Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies and Public Cloud such as Azure, AWS and GCP is preferred
