Leadership, responsibility and site development with foresight. We are looking for a future-oriented leader as of March 1, 2026, or by arrangement, who will help shape the major and demanding projects of our hospital with strategic thinking and political acumen:
Head of Construction, Infrastructure and Gastronomy (BIG) 100% - Member of the Hospital Management
Your main tasks
In this key role, you are directly at the interface between operational daily business and strategic planning. You lead the Construction, Infrastructure and Gastronomy (BIG) area with around 90 employees (4 directly subordinate departments: Technology/Construction/Security, Cleaning, Kitchen and Hospitality). The focus is clearly on strategy, planning and future-oriented site development.
- Overall responsibility for property management – especially planning and implementation of the complex renovation of the existing hospital building during ongoing operations
- Development and management of construction, conversion and infrastructure projects with a focus on sustainability, value retention and functionality
- Design of a future-oriented site development that creates space for innovation and medical progress
- Close cooperation with authorities, political bodies, planning offices and internal stakeholders – with high communication confidence and negotiation skills
- Responsibility as well as leadership and further development of the heads of the technical service, hospitality, kitchen and cleaning departments - in close coordination with the hospital's core business
- Leadership and participation in central committees and strategic working groups also in cooperation with the hospital board
Your profile
You have a solid education and several years of experience in managing complex construction projects – ideally in healthcare or comparable environments with ongoing operations. You maintain an overview even in political or demanding contexts and demonstrate communication strength as well as sensitivity.
- Higher technical or university education (FH/Uni) in civil engineering, architecture, spatial planning or a related field
- Several years of experience in the realization and renovation of construction projects during ongoing operations, ideally in the healthcare or service sector
- Solid experience in project and stakeholder management, preferably with certification (e.g., IPMA, PMI, HERMES)
- Political acumen and convincing communication at all levels
- A pronounced understanding of economic contexts and entrepreneurial management with key figures to ensure the financial and strategic goals of the projects
- Strong leadership, organizational and decision-making skills
- Experience in the overall leadership of large operational teams
- Resilient, entrepreneurial-minded personality with high personal responsibility
