In the canton of Thurgau, all residents should feel safe. This is ensured by around 500 employees of the Thurgau Cantonal Police around the clock with a modern organization and in close contact with the population.
In the Operational Evaluation, large amounts of data from telecommunications surveillance are technically analyzed and professionally classified. The employees recognize patterns and connections in complex telecommunications and mobile data and support criminal police investigations as competent contacts for technical questions.
We are looking for a specialist to start immediately or by arrangement
Your main tasks
- Technical and professional support of demanding criminal police investigations in the field of mobile communications and telecommunications
- Professional analysis, consultation, and classification of telecommunications surveillance measures as well as technical assessment of location, movement, and signaling data
- Analysis of large structured and unstructured data sets, focusing on complex mobile data and digital traces
- Continuous monitoring, evaluation, and classification of technological developments in the field of mobile communications and telecommunications
- Participation in interdisciplinary project and specialist groups as well as active building and maintenance of a professional network
- Creation of meaningful reports and visualizations that clearly and appropriately present the obtained results
- Co-responsibility for the smooth operation of federal applications in the field of postal and telecommunications traffic
- Taking on weekend and on-call duties to ensure readiness around the clock
Your profile
- Solid education, ideally with a degree from a higher technical school in telematics, network electronics with a focus on telecommunications, or equivalent
- Several years of professional experience in the mobile communications environment, ideally with in-depth knowledge of modern mobile networks (LTE/5G)
- Very good understanding of network architectures, signaling, location, and movement data
- Experience with the analysis and presentation of large data sets
- Ability to convey complex technical issues clearly, precisely, and practically
- Analytical, structured, and independent working style
- Experience in criminal police or security-relevant environments is an advantage
- Proficient communication and cooperation skills in dealing with internal and external partners
- Confident German language skills in speaking and writing, good English skills as well as good editorial skills
- High willingness for continuous further education and openness to new technologies
